THE CHURCH IS A GROUP OF PEOPLE, EQUIPPED TO SERVE, MEETING THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE ALL OVER, GOD’S WAY.

On this beautiful Sunday morning in this God ‘s Created, Church Town of Burgersdorp, a historical occasion took place. The LIVING CHRISTIAN CHURCH ,BURGERSDORP AND KNAPDAAR, was officially founded.
When God created men, he gave them power to rule over the earth, not over people ( Gen. 1:26 )
God anointed people with gifts and appointed them to prepare all God’s people for the work of Christian service, in order to build up the body of Christ. ( Ephesians 4:11 & 12.) The Church, ( Body of Christ ) cannot be ruled by a specific group of people who have lost touch with their members on the ground.
THE LIVING CHRISTIAN CHURCH, BURGERSDORP AND KNAPDAAR, is founded on the principles of Eph. 4:11,12 with the MOTTO : “ OUR OUTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST “ 

As the Reformed Church was born in Burgersdorp, our Church was born here in this town on Sunday 11 September 2005. The Church consisted mostly of members of the Methodist Church, which has disappeared in town on the same day. The founder members work very hard to see that the daily operation of the Church ran smoothly and that the members receive quality spiritual guidance and service, which they deserve.

Past. Roy & Rose ABRAHAMS, dedicated themselves to lead the Church and undertook that they will see with the help of God and the support of the congregates, the church can go from good to great.

The founder members, George Parker ( Chairman ), Deon Gildenhuys, Kenny & Margie Field, Derrick & Rina Bendeman, Mark & Amanda Gowar, left no stone untouched to govern and assist the Resident minister to allow God’s Word to be preached and to work according to Luke 4 : 17, 18. We are currently busy with a soup kitchen in Eureka every Friday.
Mark and Amanda Gowar has since left town and are working in the beautiful town of Parys in the Free State, but are still part of this Church.

Three new congregates were also confirmed on this memorable day, after one year thorough bible study classes by the resident minister. They are : Wesley FIELD;  Katelyn GILDENHUYS and Cornè VAN STADEN.

The Church have it’s own unique sound which are conducted by Olivia Price and Deon Gildenhuys. We have our own unique Song Book, written by Pastor Roy, with the inputs of the congregation.
The Congregation will have a Golf Day on the 29 NOVEMBER 2008 at Burgersdorp Golf Club.
